Event Guidelines

The USGA Rules of Golf are to be adhered to at all times. Disregard of the Rules of Golf can result in suspension of the violator.

Event Scoring

  1. All scores must be turned in on a timely basis, within 6 hours of completion of the event.
  2. All score results must be confirmed. Such confirmation must include either (a) two signatures on a scorecard, (b) a scorecard and an app filed score (thru Golf Genius) or (c) having 2 scorecards submitted thru the aforementioned app.
  3. Should the scores differ on either of the 2 submissions, the higher score will be counted.

Local Rules

  • Play from bunkers while no rakes are available: it is permissible to modify the ball location if a ball hit into the bunker is in a footprint or similar abused area of the bunker. It is to be placed without penalty, within a nominal distance no nearer the hole.
  • A ball that goes out of bounds may have the next stroke taken from the fairway perpendicular to where the ball went out of bounds with a 2-STROKE PENALTY being assessed instead (i.e. first stroke goes out of bounds, 2-stroke penalty to drop the ball in the fairway, golfer is now lying three, and about to hit their fourth stroke).
  • Putts taken from on the green in the middle of, or behind, a dirt patch, may be moved a modest distance, no nearer the hole to avoid the dirt patch it was in initially.

CTP (Closest To Pin) Guidelines

All Members

  1. All members are eligible for the Standard CTP competition.
  2. Members may opt in or out of participating in CTP for a given calendar season via the My Account page on this website or by a call to the event director.
  3. Members will be required to maintain the same CTP selection for ALL EVENTS FOR THE BALANCE OF THE CALENDAR YEAR.
  4. There is to be no periodic opting in or out of selectively on an event-by-event basis.

Members 62+ Years Old

  • Members 62+ years of age with a course handicap of 14 or higher are eligible for the Senior CTP competition.
  • Eligible members who wish to participate in the Senior CTP instead of the Standard CTP must select "Closest To Pin - Senior Preferred" when making their CTP selection
  • If "Closest To Pin - Senior Preferred" is selected, and your course handicap falls below 14 for an event, then you will automatically be entered into the CTP Standard competition.
  • As a result of this club policy, all members choosing to be in a CTP/HIO competition will only be eligible for one of the CTP competitions in the same event. Note that the HIO ("Hole In One") payoff for Seniors is, as it has been all along, only for those holes which are in the Senior CTP category.

Club Policies

Untimely Withdrawals

Any event that a member enrolls in as an ATTENDING player and who withdraws or fails to show at the course for the event after the official closure day, will incur a penalty. These official closure days are reflected on the website. Typically, they are: Tuesday, 8 days before a Wednesday event, OR 8 days prior to a weekend event. The cutoff time is 1 pm to allow the City to post available tee times for the public the following morning. The penalties will be as follows:

Individual Events
  • 1st offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee
  • 2nd offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee, plus an additional $20 fine
  • 3rd offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee, plus an additional $40 fine, plus a suspension of 45 days from participation in any Club event.
Team Events
  • 1st offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee plus an additional $20 fine
  • 2nd offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee plus an additional $40 fine
  • 3rd offense: Forfeiture of the $20 participation fee, plus an additional $40 fine, plus a suspension of 45 days from participation in any Club event.

All funds withdrawn from the offender's Club account will go into a Fine Pool to be utilized for the Winners Event at the end of the year, or go to the event pool/payoff for that event.

Reinstatement from the suspension would be available once the member has paid all outstanding fines plus prepaid for at least one additional event.

Late Entry requests

If a request is made to attend an event after the closure time/date, and there is reasonable opportunity to include that member as a player in the event, an additional charge of $10 will be due from the tardy requestor. No charge will be assigned if that player is not able to be included in the event. Consideration will be given to potential need to modify Flights, Pairings and Tee Times for an individual event plus Team balancing for a Team event.
